Charge

  • Organizers to consult with relevant L2s and SEs
  • Present progress towards readout technology recommendation, or decision, or status thereof
  • Present progress towards optical coupling technology decision, or status thereof
  • Present prototype design, and fabrication and testing plan (S4 wafers tested by end of 2020)
  • Summarize/update technical risks, R&D / simulation needs to retire those risks
  • Define interfaces between Detectors, Readout, and Modules. (Who provides non-detector coupling wafers? Who bonds? How are fab resources allocated between squids and detectors? Etc etc)
  • Plan schedule of design reviews for these subsystems needed before CD1

Parallel session 1 (9am-11am): Detectors and Module Interfaces

  • Optical coupling technology:
    • Summary of optical assessment, committee comments, next steps (TBC: Mark R., 20-min)
  • Progress on determining detector specifications and flowdown (TBC: Jeff McMahon / John Ruhl, 20-min)
  • CDFG overview of status, plans, next steps (TBC: Mark R., 20-min)
  • Design review schedule and development goals for August agency review and CD-1 (Aritoki Suzuki representing L2s, 40-min) - [1]

Parallel session 2 (11:30am-130pm): Readout and Prototype Module Testing

  • Progress towards readout technology recommendation or decision (15-min)
    • Summary of readout assessment and comments (Amy or Zeesh)
    • Discussion of next milestones and steps in process (Amy or Zeesh)
  • Brief updates of new information/developments since December (10 min or less each: TDM, fMux, uMux)
  • Systems engineering and interfaces (Jim G. 15+ min)
  • If time allows (depends on length of segments above): continued discussion comparing existing technical performance to metrics (Z&A)
  • Readout-related detector testing needs (30-min) - (Adam Anderson)
    • Module and readout related testing needs for detector testing
    • Discuss overall landscape, and what makes sense given status of readout downselect, and what resources are available
  • Summary and discussion
    • Plan schedule of design reviews for these subsystems needed before CD1
